UML's Julie Kumari Mahato elected from Dhanusha-3

UML leader Julie Kumari Mahato

CPN-UML candidate Julie Kumari Mahato has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Dhanusha constituency-3.

Mahato became a member of the House of Representatives by defeating Anil Kumar Jha of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) by a margin of 9,669 votes.

While Mahato garnered 33,355 votes, Jha received only 23,686 votes.

Prior to this, she became a member of parliament twice from the proportional representation (PR) quota of UML.

Although Julie won the elections, her husband Raghubir Mahaseth lost by 10 votes to Mahendra Yadav of Nepali Congress (NC) in Dhanusha 4.

UML's Mahaseth got 10,135 votes while Yadav got 10,145 votes.
