Tamu Lhosar was observed with fanfare at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Organized by Tamu Hyalu Chhoja Dhee Gurung Rastriya Parishad, the festival was inaugurated by flying 12 different balloons symbolizing months of the year amidst rituals.
Clad in traditional attires, Gurung artists performed cultural dances such as Kaura, Ghatu, Maruni, Jhyaure amidst a display of traditional Gurung house, plough, yoke, spade, sickle, among others used in farming.
Similarly, Gurung people from various walks of life including politicians, players, and civil servants were honored for their contributions in different fields.
