Newly elected 39 high court judges take oath

Newly elected 39 high court judges have taken the oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

Chief Judge Nripadhwaj Niraula administered the oath of office and secrecy to the judges in the presence of Law Minister Dhanraj Gurung and Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha amidst a ceremony at the High Court Patan today.

A meeting of the Judicial Council held on January 3 had appointed 39 judges to the high courts across the country.

Twenty-six among those appointed are from district courts, four civil servants under the Judicial Service while nine are from legal practitioners.
