One more Nepali killed in Russia-Ukraine war

One more Nepali national has died while serving in the Russian Army, Deputy Mayor of Pyuthan Municipality Devendra Barma has said.

According to Barma, Somesh Sunar, a resident of Pyuthan Municipality-4, Kathebar perished while serving in the Russian Army fighting against Ukraine.  

Barma, who is also the vice president of Nepali Congress, Pyuthan, informed about Sunar’s death through a social networking site.  

With this, the number of Nepali citizens killed in the Russia-Ukraine war has climbed to 11.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had made public the deaths of 10 Nepali nationals in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Around 200 Nepali citizens are serving in the Russian Army and four have been held hostage by the Ukrainian Army, according to the Foreign Ministry.
