Member of Parliament Gangaram Chaudhary has been elected as the General Secretary of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP).
The first General Convention of the NUP underway at Tikapur in Kailali elected Chaudhary to the post of the General Secretary.
Dharma Chaudhary and Thakur Singh Tharu also were in the fray for the post of General Secretary. However, they withdrew their candidacies.
Twenty-five office-bearers including Resham Lal Chaudhary as the chairman have already been elected unopposed.
