Dr Rabi Malla has been appointed as the executive director of Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center on Wednesday.
A cabinet meeting held today appointed Malla as the director to the post on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and Population, informed Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma.
Minister for Health and Population Mohan Basnet on December 27 had appointed Malla as an acting executive director after the four-year term of Dr Chandramani Adhikari expired.
The government appointed Malla as the executive director today.
Dr Ramesh Koirala, who is currently working at Gagalal Hospital, had also shown interest in this position. However, Malla has been appointed to this post thanks to the favor of Arzu Deuba, the wife of former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
