A bus turned sideways after the road surface caved in while traveling in Baneshwar on Friday morning.

A passenger bus coming to Ratna Park from Tinkune has bogged down and turned sideways on the road at Baneshwar Chowk in Kathmandu on Friday morning.

The passenger bus, Ba 3 Kha 3762, suddenly bogged down after the road surface caved in, sending passengers to run out in panic.

"We ran out in panic after the running bus suddenly turned sideways, said a passenger involved in the accident, "The wheels of the vehicle bogged down in the road surface."

Earlier, in October 2078, a big pothole had appeared in front of the Civil Service Hospital near New Baneshwar Chowk.

This Maitighar-Tinkune road was built six years ago by the Kathmandu Valley Road Expansion Project through a joint construction company called Tundi-Raman-Biruwa at a cost of 500 million rupees.

The six-lane road in the Kathmandu Valley started to develop potholes within a year of its construction.
