Nepal registered a second win in a row by inflicting a four-wicket defeat on Canada in the One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament on Saturday.
Chasing a 286-run target set by Canada, Nepal reached it in 45.1 overs losing six wickets.
Rohit Paudel proved his valor of captainship by scoring 87 runs including eight fours and four sixes off 101 balls followed by Dev Khanal with 76 runs including 7 fours and 2 sixes off 81 balls. Anil Sah, Bhim Sharki, Pawan Sarraf, and Aasif Sheikh contributed 50, 23, 14, and 10 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Harsh Thaker and Ishwarjot Sohi took wickets each while Saad Bin Zafar and Dilpreet Bajwa grabbed one wicket each for Canada.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday, Canada notched up 285 runs losing 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Aaron Johnso topped the score with 65 runs studded with 10 fours and two sixes off 62 balls followed by Navneet Dhaliwal with 46 runs while Shreyas Movva and Pargat Singh contributed 40 and 38 runs, respectively. Other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Kushal Malla and Rohit Paudel grabbed two wickets each while Sompal Kami, Surya Tamang, Aakash Chand, and Pawan Sarraf claimed one wicket each for Nepal.
The next and final match between Canada and Nepal will take place on February 12.
