19-yr-old girl who went missing from Kapan found dead in Pashupati jungle

A 19-year-old girl, who went missing from Kapan two days ago, has been found dead in the jungle of Pashupati Area of Kathmandu.

The dead body has been identified as Sushmita Thapa, 19, of Kamalamai Municipality-1, Sindhuli, who was currently staying at Kapan, informed DSP Keshav Thebe of Gaushala Police Circle, Kathmandu.

Sushmita’s body was found hanging from a tree in the Pashupati jungle this morning.

“Her body was found hanging from a tree,” DSP Thebe told Nepalkhabar, “Her kin (brother) has identified the body. The body has now been taken to TU Teaching Hospital for postmortem.”

Locals who went for a morning walk on Friday morning spotted the body and informed the police about it, said Thebe.

“She seems to have committed suicide, apparently, a preliminary investigation of the police shows. We are carrying out further investigation into the case,” said Thebe.

She had gone missing for the last two days. She had told her brother that she would go to her relative in Bhaktapur, according to police.
