At least seven killed, 25 injured in Baglung bus accident

At least seven people died and 25 others sustained injuries in a passenger bus accident that occurred in Baglung district on Monday evening.

An ill-fated bus, Bagmati Pradesh 01-006 Kha 3879, met with an accident at Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6, Jaule, while it was heading to Kathmandu carrying passengers from Rukum East, said District Police Office, Baglung.

The bus veered off the road and fell some 150 meters down the road at Jaule along the Mid-Hill Highway, after it went out of control, according to police.

The details of the deceased and the injured are yet to be received as the search and rescue operations are underway, said Police Inspector of Area Police Office, Burtibang, Raj Kumar BK.

The death toll and the injured might increase as the passengers may have fallen into the stream and stuck in cliffs, said BK.
