Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Park Tae-Young, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the Home Ministry, Ambassador Park congratulated Lamichhane on being appointed to the post of Home Minister and wished him a successful tenure, Lamichhane’s secretariat said.
Ambassador Park assured that the Korean government would increase in the migrant workers intake under the Employment Permit System (EPS) in the coming days during the meeting with Minister Lamichhane.
The ambassador further shared that the Korean government is making preparations to provide skilled-based training to Nepali migrant workers in South Korea enabling them to create small-scale employment opportunities in Nepal after they return from Korea.
Meanwhile, he signaled a boost in foreign direct investment and financial support from South Korea in Nepal in the days ahead.
In response, Minister Lamichhane thanked Korean Ambassador for giving opportunities to Nepali youth to work in Korea.
Similarly, Minister Lamichhane expressed hope that Korea would assist Nepal in agriculture, tourism, skill-development and technology.
He further said that the zero tolerance policy against corruption adopted by Korea is an exemplary and quite suitable in the context of Nepal.
