Heatwave likely to continue for five days: Meteorologists

Meteorologists have warned that a scorching heatwave is likely to grip the Terai region for the next five days and advised people to take precautions against the extreme heat.

Issuing a bulletin today, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has urged the residents in the Terai region in particular to take precautions against the extreme heatwave until April 26.

“Temperatures are on the increasing trend, of late. A scorching heat is likely to affect the residents in the Terai region. Hence, the people in the Terai region are advised to take special precautions against the heatwave that may continue till April 26 starting today,” reads the bulletin.

Similarly, the heatwave also might affect the low-lying areas and valleys including Kathmandu, the meteorologists said, urging the people to take precautions against it.

“The heatwave is likely to hit the low-lying areas and valleys including Kathmandu in the hilly region. Hence, people are advised to take precautions against the spell of scorching heat,” reads the bulletin.
