The health condition of Sumitra Adhikari, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-27, Chitwan, deteriorated two months after she arrived in Cyprus.

Adhikari was diagnosed with cancer during a routine checkup by the doctors.

As her condition deteriorated, she breathed her last in the course of treatment at the General Hospital in Nicosia on Monday, the Honorary Consulate of Nepal in Nicosia said.

Her lifeless body will be repatriated to Nepal following a postmortem examination.

Filled with hope and dreams of a brighter future for her children, Sumrita traveled to Cyprus to earn money six months ago. Tragically, she perished in the European country.

It’s hard to believe for her family members. However, the harsh truth is that her family members will see her only lifeless body, that, too, for the last time.
