The twenty-fifth Congress of the Asian Sports Press Association (AIPS Asia) is set to be held in Nepal in the second week of September.

A meeting of the AIPS Asia held in Spain decided to entrust Nepal Sports Journalists Forum with the responsibility of holding the conference in Kathmandu.

After handing over the responsibility to the NSJF, the president of AIPS, Asia, Hee Dong Jung, expressed his belief that the NSJF would hold the conference successfully.

"This big responsibility has been given to the NSJF to widen the scope of the sports journalism in the Asian countries," said Hee.

Earlier, Nepal had convened the Central Working Committee meeting of the AIPS Asia in 2016.

The AIPS Asia, an organization for sports journalism in Asia, previously held its congresses in economically stable countries like Qatar, South Korea, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Sports journalists from over 30 Asian countries will participate in the congress of AIPS Asia, according to the press note issued by the Association.

The president of NSJF Durganath Subedi thanked the AIPS Asia for assigning a small country like Nepal to hold the congress of the association.

Similarly, the Hong Kong Sports Press Association will hold the conference next year, according to the decision of the AIPS Asia.
