Police make public two men held with Rs 9.8 mln at Durbar Marg last night

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has unveiled two individuals who were arrested with Rs 9.8 million in cash on last night.

The arrested are 28-year-old Samir Sunar and Milan BK, 29, of Siyari Rural Municipality-7, Rupandehi district, informed the Chief of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, SSP Sanuram Bhattarai.

"They were arrested during security check last night while they were traveling in a vehicle near Jaya Nepal Movie Hall at Durbar Marg. They are also involved in hundi transactions and gold smuggling, according to a preliminary investigation of the office,” said Bhattarai.

Police have seized Rs 9.8 million in cash and a Ford EcoSport car, Ba 13 Cha 4858, in possession of them.

Arrested BK had been on the run after the police on September 23, 2023 issued an arrest warrant to him in the 11-kg sold smuggling case in Dolakha.

A preliminary investigation of the police shows that they have been engaged in criminal activities for the last two years.

They will be taken to District Police Office Range, Kathmandu for further investigation, said Bhattaria.
