With all-rounder Deependra Singh Airee's explosive batting, Nepali national cricket team has managed to win the first practice match.
Nepal, which is currently preparing for the ICC T20, defeated Windward Volcanoes by four wickets in the first practice match.
Chasing the 197-run target set by Windward, Nepal reached it in 19.3 overs losing six wickets held on Tuesday night.
Kushal Bhurtel topped the score with 70 runs followed by Deependra with 52 runs while Sompal contributed 32 runs.
Nepal is playing two World Cup matches at Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is playing two more practice matches with Windward. The second match will take place on Thursday and the last match is scheduled for May 18. After playing the third match Nepali team will leave for Houston on May 19.
Nepal will play practice matches with Houston Hurricanes on May 22 and 23 at Prairie View Cricket Complex.
After playing practice matches, Nepal will head for Dallas on May 25. Nepal is scheduled to play two warm-up matches at Grand Prairie Stadium before World Cup 2024.
