Tipper involved in killing a biker at Gwarko hit-and-run held based on CCTV footage

Police have taken under control the driver and the tipper involved in killing a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run in Gwarko on Wednesday night.

Jayanath Yadav, 32, of Siraha, who was currently staying in Koteshwar, who was injured after being hit by the tipper, died in the course of treatment at B and B Hospital last night.

However, police had not been able to detect the tipper.   

The police, rounded up the tipper, Ba 3 Kha 6621, along with the driver, from Godawari Municipality-6, Gaurighat based on a CCTV footage, said SP Naresh Raj Subedi, the spokesperson of the Lalitpur Police Range Office.

“The tipper along with its driver Chhoisang Tamang, 26, of Godawari Municipality-6, have been arrested and taken under control,” said SP Subedi.

The negotiation between the tipper owner and the kin of the victim is currently underway at Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato.

The family of the victim killed by the vehicle is entitled to get Rs 500,000 in compensation in accordance with the provision.
