Climbers have been stranded as climbing ropes fixed on Mt Everest were found to have been cut off.
The fixed climbing ropes were found slashed just below the South Summit and above the balcony section of Mt Everest on Sunday, noted Mountaineer Nirmal Purja informed through a video footage.
“So much dirty politics is going on here on the mountain. The ropes fixed on Mt Everest have been cut off. I have seen this dirty politics going for the last three years. I have had enough of it. I have to speak about it now. This is extremely disgusting,” complained Purja, popularly known as Nimsdai.
He further said that they will figure out the miscreant soon.
The fixed ropes were found slashed when a group of four rescue members were going up to retrieve a dead body above Camp 4, according to the video footage.
However, Brigadier General Gaurav Kumar KC, the spokesperson of the Nepal Army, said that he had no information about it when contacted over the phone.
