A youth has been beaten to death in Siraha.
The deceased is identified as 30-year-old Rakesh Yadav of Dhangadhimai Municipality-12, Kathiya, said the District Police Office, Siraha.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the relatives of the deceased, the police arrested five people including 20-year-old Ananda Sadaya, a resident of Naraha Rural Municipality-1, in connection with the death of Yadav.
According to police, a group of people including Ananda had beaten Rakesh on Saturday night.
Critically injured Rakesh, who was taken to PGI Hospital in India, passed away in the course of treatment. No sooner had the DPO, Siraha received the news about Rakesh's death, than a squad of police moved in to arrest the assaulters.
Police said they are investigating the case.
