Saurya Airlines crash:  Captain Manish Shakya rescued, rushed to KMC Hospital

Captain Manish Shakya of Saurya Airlines aircraft that met with an accident at Tribhuvan International Airport has been rescued.

Captain Shakya has been rushed to KMC Hospital for treatment, said SSP Dinesh Raj Mainali of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office.

The Pokhara-bound 50-seater CRJ-200 aircraft, with the call sign 9N-AME, crashed toward Pepsicola direction near the runway shortly after it took off, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

It crashed at 11: 11 am, the CAAN said. 

There were 19 passengers on board the ill-fated aircraft, according to the police.
