The health condition of former Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport and UML leader Basanta Nembang is gradually recuperating.
Nembang, who suffered a brain stroke while attending a meeting of the UML Taplejung District Committee on January 31, has still been undergoing treatment.
He is receiving treatment at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, India, of late.
Also a member of House of Representatives, Nembang was airlifted to Kathmandu from Taplejung where he collapsed while attending a party meeting and admitted to Mediciti Hospital. After being treated for almost a month at Mediciti he was taken back to his house where he was treated for one and a half months before being flown to Bangalore for further treatment.
Prabhat Nembang, Basanta’s son, told Nepalkhabar that he is undergoing treatment at NIMHANS in Bangalore and his health condition is gradually improving. According to Prabhat, leader Basanta is able to take short stroll now-a-days.
“He cannot climb up and down a staircase but he is able to take a short stroll now-a-days,” his son Prabhat said, "With the improvement in health condition, we are making preparations to take back home before Dashain.”
Prabhat had also gone along with his father to Bangalore for the treatment of his father. But now he has returned to Kathmandu. His wife Bhumika Limbu is with him in Banglalor.
After collapsing at a party meeting in Taplejung, he was airlifted to Kathmandu and admitted to Mediciti Hospital. An MRI report revealed a blood clot in the left hemisphere of his brain.
