The Facebook status posted by Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, about CPN (UML) lawmaker Rekha Sharma on September 1, has reappeared on the Facebook wall today.

Mayor Balen's secretariat stated that Facebook had deleted his post criticizing the government for not arresting the provincial lawmaker Sharma who held a minor captive.

Balen objected to the government for not taking an action against lawmaker Sharma despite repeated requests.

The status that disappeared two days after it was posted has reappeared on the wall on Friday. Facebook made it visible on the wall today with an apology.

Venting his ire on the status, ANNFSU President Samik Badal had accused Major Balen of "swindling the general public at the behest of the khufiya agency.”

Ridiculing Badal’s status, Balen urged UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to recruit his cadres into politics only after providing them general knowledge and orientation.

Balen had made it further clear by writing a long status on the verdicts issued by Supreme Court and High Court, while President Badal tried to prove it wrong on the part of Mayor Balen through a video conferencing.

The social media debate between Balen and Badal unexpectedly caused a massive decline in Prime Minister Oli's Facebook followers. The number of Oli’s Facebook followers is now gradually increasing.
