Former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has been taken back to Pokhara after recording his statements on the embezzlements of funds from Sano Paila cooperative based in Birgunj.
Lamichhane, who was in the police custody of the District Police Office, Parsa, was flown to Pokhara via Kathmandu a while ago.
Parsa police on Tuesday recorded Lamichhane's statements in the presence of the district attorney chief Bhola Nath Niraula.
Lamichhane had been taken to Birgunj from Pokhara via Kathmandu for investigations on the fund embezzlements of Sano Paila Cooperative on Monday.
Rastriya Swatantra Party President Lamichhane is undergoing investigations on funds embezzlement of five cooperatives including Pokhara-based Suryadarshan, an organized crime and money laundering.
Lamichhane was arrested on October 18 in Kathmandu for investigation into his alleged involvement into the embezzlements of funds from Suryadarshan cooperative and whisked to the District Police Office, Pokhara the same day.
Prior to this, the police recorded his statements on Sarwalakshmi cooperative in Kathmandu, Sahara in Chitwan and Supreme Cooperative in Butwal.
Former DIG Chhabilal Banjade, one of the business partners of Rabi, had also been taken to Birgunj for recording his statements on the cooperative fraud case.
