Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana addressed a panel on "LGBTQI+ in Feminist Foreign Policy" at the Equal Rights Coalition Conference held in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday.
In her speech, she underscored the urgent need for a paradigm shift in global policies to address the significant challenges faced by LGBTQI+ individuals worldwide, according to an X message posted by the Foreign Ministry.
The Minister highlighted the prevalence of violence, harassment, and systemic inequality that LGBTQI+ people endure globally. She emphasized that feminist foreign policy offers a powerful tool to dismantle these barriers and promote equality.
"We need to protect LGBTQI+ rights, amplify their voices, and ensure equitable access to opportunities," The Foreign Ministry said, "By embracing these principles, we can work toward a future where LGBTQI+ individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and equality."
Similarly, Minister Rana met with Prof. Dr. Niels Hovius, Head of Geomorphology, and Dr. Ludwig Stroink, Head of Projects and International Affairs at the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam, Germany on Monday.

During the meeting, Rana and Hovius and Stroink discussed a nationwide landslide warning system for geotechnical emergencies and risk reduction in Nepal.
