Two individuals have been appointed as the executive members of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
Minister for Energy and Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka appointed Dr Bal Bahadur Parajuli and Engineer Laxman KC to the post of executive members.
Parajuli has been appointed on the CPN (UML) quota. According to the secretariat of Minister Khadka, Parajuli has already served as a consultant at the Bheri Babai Multipurpose Project and Asian Development Bank.
Similarly, Laxman KC has been appointed on the Nepali Congress quota. KC is the president of the Center for Democratic Engineers Nepal, the sister organization of ruling Nepali Congress. KC, a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from Kathmandu University, holds a degree in civil engineering from a US institution. He has a five years' experience as an engineering consultant at World Bank.
The posts were lying vacant after the term of Kapil Acharya and Bhakta Bahadur Pun as executive members expired on Tuesday.
