Deepak Boraha with Rabi Lamichhane (File Photo)
The release of a photo of former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who is doing time in police custody, has sparked controversies and raised privacy issues and potential consequences for the individual involved.
Initially, the photo and a video chat were reportedly released by Lamichhane's supporter, Dr. Nicholous Bhusal, who claimed to have taken it himself.
Reacting to the released video chat on social media, RSP co-treasurer Deepak Bohara has said to have filed a case at Cyber Bureau against the recently released viral photo of President Lamichhane claiming that it seriously violated the privacy right of the detainee.
Bhohora has claimed that the video chat between Dr. Nicholous Bhusal and him was fake. In the video footage, he has claimed that Bohora has not met with Nocholas for the last seven months. Therefore, he mentioned that he had filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police against this.
"I haven't met Dr Nicholous for 7 months. I don't even know if he came to Pokhara and visited Lamichhane. Had I known this, I would have told him to take a photo of Lamichhane. I have lodged a complaint against those who created such a fake video chat and the photo at the Cyber Bureau."
