Eight houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out in Paswan Tole in Rajdevi Municipality-5, Rautahat on Sunday night, according to the District Police Office, Rautahat.
According to the police the fire started from a bonfire lit near the house of Jagatnath Paswan, a local, at around 2:15 am.
The houses of Jagatnath, Babulal Hajara, Ramnath Paswan, Ram Sogarath Paswan, Dipendra Paswan, Bijaya Paswan, Kanti Devi Paswan and Pradeep Paswan were completely burnt down in the fire.
DSP Dipak Kumar Raya of the District Police Office, Rautahat informed the fire destroyed property worth Rs 800,000.
Raya said that the fire was completely contained at 3:30 am today with the help of the police, fire brigade from the Gaur Municipality and locals. No human casualties have been reported.
