Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former President Bidya Devi Bhandari held a meeting on Thursday.

PM Oli visited Bhandari at her residence in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.

In the meeting held for almost two hours, PM Oli and former President Bhandari discussed the ongoing political development taking place in the CPN (UML), contemporary political issues and others, according to Bhandari's personal secretary Mina Bhandari.

Oli is making preparations to become the party's chairman for the third term through the upcoming National Convention. He has already amended the party statute to this effect, removing the age-limit and allowing the chairman to serve a third term.

According to sources, Oli is apprehensive about the activities shown by former President Bhandari in politics, of late. Even Oli's henchmen want Bhandari to rejoin CPN (UML).

However, one group in UML is unhappy with the behaviors and working style of Oli. Those, who were in the Oli's faction, have started criticizing him openly. Standing Committee member Karna Bahadur Thapa on Thursday commented that the ban on views by the leaders in party meetings is unacceptable.

The removal of Bhim Rawal from the party and suspension of Binda Pandey and Usha Kiran Timsina by Chairman Oli has further irked the group opposed to Oli.
