Clashes broke out between security personnel and no cable car groups at Phungling bazaar on Saturday evening.
The local administration has imposed a prohibitory order at Phungling bazaar, the district headquarters of Taplejung.
The prohibitory order has been effective from 5 am today (February 23) until further notice, according to a press note issued by the District Administration.
"The prohibitory order has been imposed in Phungling Bazaar area to prevent further demonstrations and clashes between protestors and security personnel in line with the section 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act, 2028," reads the press note issued by Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma.
Mass meetings, demonstration, rallies, sit-ins and gatherings of more than five people is prohibited, Assistant Chief District Office Sandipa Khadka said.
The demonstrators who violate the order will be penalized as per the existing laws.
The prohibitory order will be in effect from Salleri in the east to Ghodechaur in the west of Phungling Municipality-7 and Ukalipani in the north (ward-4) to Sherpa Tole in the south (ward-6).
Similarly, Kaflepati (Baludanda) have also been declared as prohibitory area.
As many as 10 people sustained injuries in the clash that broke out between protestors and security personnel on Saturday evening.
