Nepal has defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets in the U-19 World Cup Cricket Asia Qualifier held in Kathmandu.
This is the third consecutive win achieved by Nepal. With the win, Nepal is atop the points table with 6 points followed by Afghanistan with 4 points.
Earlier, Nepal had defeated UAE and Oman. Now, Nepal will take on Afghanistan on Saturday.
Chasing the 115-run target set by Hong Kong, Nepal reached it in 12.3 over losing 1 wicket. For Nepal's win, Shahil Patel topped the score with 42 not out runs followed by Naren Bhatta and Niraj Kumar Yadav with 23 runs. Shahil and Naren hit 8 fours each during their unbeaten inning.
Opener Niraj scored 23 runs, including four boundaries, before being dismissed LBW by Hong Kong's Shayan Puri.

Similarly, UAE is in the third place while Hong Kong and Oman are placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Hong Kong notched up 115 runs losing 10 wickets in 46.2 overs. Shiv Mathur topped the score with 63 runs followed by Arya Panjwani with 13 runs while Veer Mathur contributed 12 runs.

Similarly, Harry Thomas Hodgson scored 10 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.
To restrict Hong Kong to a paltry 115-run score, Yuvaraj Khatri took the highest 4 wickets while Bipin Sharma grabbed 3 wickets.
