CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has been unanimously elected as the leader of the party's Parliamentary Party (PP).

A PP meeting held at Maoist Center's PP office in Singh Durbar on Thursday unanimously endorsed Prachanda's name as the PP leader.

Maoist Center lawmaker Sudan Kirati confirmed that Chair Prachanda's was unanimously elected as the PP leader.

Similarly, Hitraj Pandey has been picked as the Chief Whip for the House of Representatives.

The party informed that deputy PP leader and whip would be elected at a later time.

Most other parties, including the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML), have already elected PP leaders.

The Maoist Center chair is preparing to lead the next government and has taken a stance that now is his turn to become the Prime Minister from the ruling coalition.

The UML has also offered the premiership to Prachanda on the condition that he should leave the incumbent coalition. However, Prachanda is inclined to be the Prime Minister from the incumbent coalition.
