Nepal lost to host Scotland by 2 runs in its third match of the ICC World Cup League 2 ODI triangular series held in Scotland on Sunday.
Scotland restricted Nepal to 321 runs while the latter was chasing the 324-run target. To stop Nepal from reaching the target, Scotland's Mackenzie Jones took the highest 3 wickets, giving away 55 runs, followed by Safyaan Sharif and Michael Leask with 2 wickets each. Brandon McMullen and Charlie Cassell grabbed 1 wicket each for Scotland.
Despite Bhim Sharki's 73-run score, Nepal could not reach the target. Sharki hit 8 fours off 85 balls. Sompal Kami scored 67 runs including 3 fours and 4 sixes off 44 balls followed by Dipendra Singh Airee with 56 runs. Similarly, Aarif Sheikh scored 39 runs while Kushal Bhurtel and Karan KC scored 17 runs each. Gulsan Jha contributed 11 runs. The other batsmen could not score significant runs.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Forthill Cricket Stadium in Dundee on Sunday, home team Scotland managed to notch up 323 runs with the help of captain Richie Berrington's 102 runs score, losing 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Berrington hit 6 fours and 4 sixes off 114 deliveries.
Michael Leask scored 96 runs including 12 fours and 3 sixes off 62 balls followed by Charlie Tear with 68 runs. Tear hit 9 fours off 65 deliveries. Similarly, Mark Watt contributed 21 runs, while Finlay McCreath, Brandon MCMullen and Matthew Cross made 17, 5 and 3 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee grabbed 2 wickets each giving away 74 runs and 37 runs, respectively for Nepal. Lalit Raj Rajbanshi claimed 1 wicket.
This is Nepal's second meeting with Scotland in this ongoing trangular ODI series. Earlier, in the first match, Nepal successfully chased down Scotland's record target of 297 runs.
