Nepal has set a 237-run target for Netherlands in the ODI triangular match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 underway in Scotland on Tuesday.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Forthill Cricket Stadium in Dundee, Scotland, Nepal notched up 236 runs losing 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Aarif Sheikh topped the score with 84 runs including 7 sixes and 2 fours off 85 deliveries followed by Bhim Sarki and captain Rohit Paudel with 35 runs each while Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 18 and 16 runs, respectively.
Basir Ahamad and Karan KC contributed 11 runs each while Nandan Yadav scored 10 runs. The other bastsmen could not achieve significant runs.
On the bowling side, Paul van Meekeren grabbed the highest 4 wickets giving away 58 runs followed by Michael Levitt with 3 wickets. Aryan Dutt claimed 1 wicket for Netherlands.
Netherlands will bat against Nepal in a while.
Nepal has won two out of three matches in the ODI series so far, with one loss, and hopes to end the series on a high note by defeating Netherlands today. In their first match, Nepal defeated Scotland by 1 wicket.
They secured a 5-wicket victory over Netherlands in their second game. However, in their third match, Nepal suffered a narrow 2-run defeat against Scotland and is now looking for their third win in the series.
On the other hand, Netherlands, having lost both of their matches in the series so far, is searching for their first victory. After losing to Nepal in their first match, Netherlands faced a 44-run defeat against Scotland in their second game.
In the League-2 points table, Nepal is currently in seventh place with 10 points from 4 wins, 9 loses and 2 draws out of 15 matches.
Meanwhile, Netherlands, having played the most matches (22) in the league, is in the second place with 12 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws, totaling 26 points.
