Judicial Council recommends four chief judges for High Courts

The Judicial Council has recommended four judges for appointment as Chief Judges of various High Courts across Nepal, following an extensive evaluation process. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut earlier today.

Judge Rajan Prasad Bhattarai, who is currently serving at the temporary bench in Birgunj under Janakpur High Court, has been recommended for Biratnagar High Court.

Similarly, Judge Lal Bahadur Kunwar from Patan High Court has been recommended as Chief Judge for Patan High Court while Judge Hari Prasad Bhandari has been recommended as Chief Judge for Surkhet High Court.

Judge Rajeshwar Tiwari, who is serving at Tulsipur-Butwal bench, has been recommended as the Chief Judge for Tulsipur High Court.

Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, senior justices, and legal experts attended the meeting.

Chief Justice Raut will finalize the appointments based on the Council’s recommendations. The move comes amid scrutiny over judicial transparency and adherence to procedural norms.
