Nepal lost to Netherlands by 2 wickets in the third Super Over of the T20I triangular series held in Scotland on Monday.
The match ended in a tie in the first Super Over. Batting first, Nepal scored 19 runs, losing 1 wicket. Chasing the 20-run target, Netherlands scored 19 runs without losing any wickets.
As the first super over ended in a tie, the match went into the second super over. Batting first, the Netherlands scored 17 runs, losing 2 wickets off 6 balls. Chasing the 18-run target, Nepal reached it losing 1 wicket off 6 balls.
After the second match also ended in a tie, the game went into the third super over. Batting first, Nepal lost all its wickets without scoring any runs off 4 deliveries. In reply, Netherlands scored 6 off 1 ball without losing any wickets.
Earlier, the match went into a super over after the game ended in a tie after both teams scored 152 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Chasing the 153-run target set by Netherlands, Nepal notched up only 152 runs, losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel notched up 48 runs, including 3 fours and 2 sixes off 35 balls followed by Kushal Bhurtel with 34 runs. Similarly, Rupesh Singh, Kiran Thagunna and Nandan Yadav contributed 19, 15 and 12 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
On the bowling side, Daniel Doram took the highest 3 wickets while Kyle Klenin, Ben Fletcher and Zach Lion-Cachet grabbed 1 wicket each for Netherlands.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Netherlands notched up 152 runs, losing 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Teja Nidamanuru scored the highest 35 runs off 37 balls followed by Vikramjit Singh with 30 runs. Similarly, Saqib Zulfiqar, Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd collected 25, 20 and 19 runs, respectively.
In reply, Sandeep Lamichhane took the highest 3 wickets followed by Nandan Yadav with 2 wickets. Similarly, Lalit Rajbanshi and Kushal Bhurtel received 1 wicket each for Nepal.
