Sudurpaschim Royals has set a 194-run target for Pokhara Avengers in the sixth match of the Nepal Premier League (NPLL), a franchise-based cricket tournament, underway in Kirtipur.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday, Surdurpaschim notched up 193 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Josh Brown topped the score with 68 runs including 6 fours and 5 sixes off 35 balls followed by Binod Bhandari with 43 runs while Chris Lynn contributed 31 runs.
Similarly, captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 15 runs. The other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.
On the bowling side, James Neesham took 3 wickets giving away 47 runs while Aakash Chand and Dan Douthwaite grabbed 2 wickets each for Pokhara.
Kushal Bhurtel is leading the team Pokhara Avengers while Dipendra Singh Airee is the captain of the team Sudurpaschim Royals.
Pokhara Avengers has both national and international players including key players Akash Chand, Sagar Dhakal, Tritra Raj Das, Dinesh Kharel and others.
Likewise, wicketkeeper Binod Bhandari, Chris Lynn and other national and international cricketers are with Sudurpaschim Royals.
The day-night match, which kicked off at 4:00 pm at TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, is being played under floodlights, installed for the second season of NPL 2025.
Two matches are set to be held on Saturday. Karnali Yaks will take on Lumbini Lions in the first match (7th match). The match will start at 11:15 am. Similarly, Biratnagar Kings and Kathmandu Gorkhas will lock their horns in the second match (8th match) tomorrow. The second match will start at 3:30 pm, according to the NPL schedule.
