Pokhara Avengers has set a 151-run target for Lumbini Lions in the 17th match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL)- a franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, underway in Kirtipur.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground on Saturday, Pokhara notched up 150 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Adam Rossington topped the score with 81 runs including 7 fours and 5 sixes off 63 deliveries followed by James Neesham with 51 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Sher Malla and Tika Bhandari took 2 wickets each while Gulbadin Naib grabbed 1 wicket for Lumbini.
Lumbini, led by captain Rohit Paudel, has won one out of four matches, and Pokhara, led by captain Kushal Bhurtel, has also won one out of three matches. Lumbini is in seventh place in the points table, while Pokhara is in the sixth place. Both teams need to win this match to keep their playoff hopes alive.
