The closed session of the 11th General Convention of Nepali Congress has started at Bhrikuti Mandap on Sunday afternoon.
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has addressed the closed session. Similarly, Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel will also address the session. He will submit his concept paper in the session, it is learnt.
Earlier in the morning, the Central Committee meeting of UML was held at Bhrikuti Mandap. The meeting revived the provisions that had been passed by the 10th General Convention of the party.
The Statute General Convention held in earlier September had decided to reduce the number of office-bearers and CC members. However, the Central Committee meeting convened this morning decided to increase the number of office-bearers to 19 and the CC to 301 members. The closed session will elect the leadership accordingly.
