For the upcoming House of Representatives elections, 64 political parties have submitted their closed lists of candidates under the proportional representation (PR) system.
According to a press release issued Tuesday by Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Election Commission, while 64 parties submitted lists, 54 of them will use their own symbols while 10 others will contest elections under four shared symbols.

The EC had scheduled December 28 and 29 for the submission of closed lists. A total of 64 parties completed the process between late Monday night and Tuesday morning.
The EC is scheduled to scrutinize the submitted lists from December 30 to January 4.
