Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that he has made a plan to create 1.5 million jobs for the youth in the next five years.
Sharing information about the election manifesto of Nepali Congress at City Hall in Kathmandu on Thursday, Thapa said that NC has prepared a resolution to continue the mission of employment and create jobs under the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution.
He said that he would create jobs by planning in sectoral categories including agriculture, tourism, physical infrastructure and information technology. “We will make a program for 5,000 youth, whether it is in parliament or in the government. We have made a program about this,” he said.
He stated that the NC is committed to upholding digital freedom and fostering youth creativity. Recognizing that young people often struggle to monetize their art and literature, he pledged, "We will bridge the gap between creation and commerce by building a dedicated market for their work."
He stressed the need to mobilize the skills and creativity of the youth. "No young man or woman should be left without a job after completing the education or skills they are studying. It is necessary to give more impetus to the skills they are studying to keep them skilled. Because the market is competitive now," Thapa said.
Similarly, the government has also made a plan to institutionalize the brain drain along with the brain gain, that is, the migration of skilled youth. "We have prepared a plan on how to create an institutionalized working environment for the youth who have migrated abroad," Thapa said
