Paraglider Nisim Thapa.
A player participating in the paragliding cross country competition under the 9th National Sports Competition has died in an accident.
The deceased has been identified as Nisim Thapa of Pokhara Metropolitan City-10, Hospital Chowk, who was taking part in the competition representing Nepali Army.
Thapa, 26, was an excellent paraglider, said paragliding pilot Laxman Neupane describing Thapa.
According to police, Thapa had crash-landed about 100 meters down into the ground as soon as he took off from Sarangkot of Pokhara at 10:30 am today.
He met with the accident after the glider did not open and the wind was blowing from the opposite site.
He was pronounced dead by the doctors as soon as he was taken to Gandaki Hospital.
