Sur Krishna Vaidya has been elected as the Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
According to the vote-count held on Friday, Vaidya was elected as the Senior Vice President by securing 56 votes. His competitor Ramchandra Sanghai received 30 votes, the election committee has informed.
There were three candidates in the fray for the Senior Vice President position of the Federation. The competition between Vaidya and Sanghai took place after Hemraj Dhakal withdrew his candidacy.
Similarly, Manish Lal Pradhan has been elected as the treasurer. He received 61 votes. His competitor Ambika Prasad Paudel received 25 votes, the election committee has informed.
The 60th annual general meeting and election of the federation was held on May 5, 2026. The FNCCI Statute, 2049 (seventh amendment) has stipulated that the Senior Vice President and Treasurer are elected by the executive committee. The election was held for two posts today, accordingly.
