The National Vigilance Center (NVC) has intensified surprise inspection at government offices.
The Center has been conducting surprise checks at 10 offices per day, said Information Officer at the Center, Sarita Khatiwada. The Center has formed five groups for this purpose.
The groups have been inspecting about employees' attendance, office uniform, file tracking, among other activities. The Center conducted surprise inspection at 1,130 offices from the beginning of the current fiscal year.
During this period, a total of 6,710 employees were found not following the office duty hours while 1,162 employees were found not wearing proper office uniform, added Khatiwada.
During the surprise check, some of the offices were monitored two or three times. Information Officer Khatiwada mentioned that action has been recommended against such employees.
As per the Civil Service Act, 2049 BS, the employees facing warning twice would face departmental action.
The Center has been conducting monitoring of government offices in seven provinces.
