Sharma set to become Communication Minister

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is expanding the cabinet on Tuesday (January 17). 

Prime Minister Dahal expanding the Council of Ministers with the consensus of the Ministry division in the meeting of the ruling partner parties held on Monday evening.

According to the agreement, the CPN-Maoist center will have a prime minister, 4 ministers and a state minister. 

Narayankaji Shrestha has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure along with Prime Minister Dahal from CPN-MC.

Apart from this, Maoist Center will now have 3 ministers and 1 minister of state. 

According to sources, Ministry of Communication and Technology, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of General Administration have fallen under the Maoist Center.

Sources confirmed that CPN-MC’s Rekha Sharma will be assigned the Minister of Communication and Technology and Sudan Kiranti as the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Kiranti, who was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Bhojpur, defeated the former Chief Minister from CPN-UML Sherdhan Rai. 

Similarly, Sharma defeated UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel from Dang.

Likewise, Aman lal Modi has been assigned with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. 

There is an oath-taking program of ministers today at 1 pm. 

A meeting of Maoist officials has been called prior to the same.
