New Zealand set a target of 153 runs for Pakistan in the first semi-final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, New Zealand notched up 152 runs losing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Daryl Mitchell topped the score with 53 not-out runs including three fours and one six off 35 deliveries. Similarly, Kane Williamson made 46 runs while Devon Conway contributed 21 runs.
In reply, Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets while Mohammad Nawaz grabbed one wicket for Pakistan. The winner will enter the final of the world cup.
New Zealand entered the semi-finals as the winners of Group 'A'. Pakistan made it to the semi-finals through a stroke of luck as the runners-up of Group 'B'.

Looking at the history of these two teams, who are competing for the final entry, the result is in favor of Pakistan. Pakistan and New Zealand have met six times in T20 World Cup so far. Out of which four matches have been won by Pakistan. New Zealand have won only two matches.
The second semi-final match between India, the winner of group B, and England, the first runner-up of group A, is scheduled to take place at the Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground in Adelaide, Australia 12:45 pm on Thursday.
The final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia on next Sunday (November 13).
