NC's Shankar Bhandari wins HoR polls from Tanahu-2

Nepali Congress candidate Shankar Bhandari

Nepali Congress candidate Shankar Bhandari has won the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Tanahu-2.

According to the final election results of the House of Representatives (HoR), Bhandari was elected with a margin of 5,474 votes.

Bhandari has received 30,604 votes, while his nearest opponent Kiran Gurung of UML has received 25,130 votes, said Gobinda Upadhyay, the election officer of the Tanahu constituency-2.

Similarly, Bijay Joshi of Rastriya Swatantra Party got 5,373 votes while Narendra Pratap Mahat of Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 1,421 votes.

The election officer's office said that the total number of votes cast was 68,817 and 3,581 votes were invalid.
