NEA MD Ghising leaving for Bangladesh today

To finalize power sale deal with Bangladesh

Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, is leaving for Bangladesh today to finalize a deal on selling 40 megawatts of electricity to the country.

Ghising said that the two countries will strike a deal so that Nepal will sell electricity during the rainy reason.

While the agreement to sell electricity to Bangladesh has already been reached, technical issues are yet to be finalized.

Bangladesh will get the electricity at the same price as it is sold to India, according to an agreemet.

Although electricity has to be imported during the dry season electricity has to be exported from Nepal during the rainy season.

NEA MD Ghising said has informed that 400 megawatts will be connected to national transmission line within one month.

He said that 400 megawatts have been prepared but could not be connected to the national transmission line
