Patan Dhoka showcases photos of western Nepal taken by Tony Hagen 70 years ago

The Nepal Heritage Society has organized a photo exhibition at Patan Dhoka in Lalitpur, showcasing rare images of western Nepal taken by Swiss Citizen Tony Hagen 70 years ago.

The photo exhibition has been organized by the Society in coordination with Yala Maya Kendra and Patan Museum from Tuesday.

Dr. Katrin Hagen, daughter of Tony Hagen, Pratima Pandey, vice president of the Heritage Society, journalist Kanak Mani Dixit among others expressed their views at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The photos depict houses, costumes and appearance of people in western Nepal seven decades ago.

Those pictures will be kept at Yala Maya Kendra at Patan Dhoka till March 2 and at Patan Museum from March 4 to 13, the organizers said.

Hagen came to Nepal for the first time in 1950 at the invitation of the then Prime Minister Mohan Shumsher Rana.
