CPN (Maoist Center) Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who was brought to Kathmandu after his arrest in Kapilvastu, has been taken to the Office of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Lazimpat.
Acting on a tip-off, a CIB team followed him from Bardaghat since Sunday evening and managed to arrest him from a restaurant in Kapilvastu. He was arrested when he was about to take lunch on Monday morning. According to the police, Mahara was heading to his home district Rolpa.
He will be taken to the Office of the District Attorney, Babarmahal, and the District Court Kathmandu for a remand, said a CIB official.
