12th grader girl found with throat slit in Palpa

A 19-year-old 12th grader girl has been found murdered by slitting her throat at Ribdikot in Palpa.

The body of 19-year-old Padma Sunar of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-1, Khyaha, Karamdi was found murdered on Tuesday afternoon, said the District Police Office, Palpa.

She has deep knife injuries to her neck and hands. She had gone to a public tap far away from her house to possibly take a bath on Tuesday afternoon.

Her family members went out in search of her after she did not return home till late evening, according to her kin. Padma was studying in grade 12 at Sharada Secondary School.

A team of police from the District Police Office has now reached the incident site along with a sniffer dog.

"We are at the incident site," DSP Subarna Shrestha of the District Police Office, Palpa, told Nepalkhabar, "The body was in the incident site throughout the night. We have cordoned off the incident site. We have reached the incident site with a sniffer dog."

A team of police officials led by Palpa Police Chief SP Narendra Chand, is at the incident site. "We are investigating the case from every angle," said DSP Shrestha, "We won't let the culprit responsible for the death go scot-free."

While the exact details remain undisclosed by the police, there is a possibility that she fought back against an assault in a deserted location, which may have led to her death.
